Development of the design language of a luxury residential truck
The name Piaggio is almost synonymous with Vespa – a timeless icon. However, in the category above Vespa, the maxi scooter segment, the visual character often fades: the products work well functionally, yet they offer little differentiation in terms of form and brand expression.
The challenge was to create an electric Vespa concept that carries the brand into a new generation while moving beyond the traditional small-wheel scooter format. Larger, maxi proportions bring greater comfort and stability – but how can this be achieved without losing Vespa’s iconic character?
The project started from a simple question: what happens beyond the Vespa icon? How can the maxi category become emotionally stronger and better positioned at a brand level in the electric era?
The exterior design of the residential truck was designed in line with the Dembell team's creed, brand strategy and thoughtful technical innovations. We designed a sophisticated, timeless look that reflects Dembell's vision of creating the world's first luxury inland yacht — completely unknown in the world of motorhomes
The product design won the renowned Red Dot design award in 2022 and 2023.
